An afterword: Bloggers Meet II
This is supposed to be a post on Bloggers Meet II with Peter Tan, which took place at Midvalley Megamall yesterday, but I will not be doing justice if I did not mention my Saturday book-hunting trip with a fellow blogger-cum-old friend from primary school, Kevin. We meet at Midvalley Megamall and he took me to a Christian bookstore in PJ. When I saw their collection of reference books on the top floor, it was only then I realised that this is probably one of the few Christian bookstores that actually have the kind of books I was looking for, i.e. basic Hebrew/Greek guide books, interlinear Hebrew-Greek Bibles, etc.
Then we went to Berjaya Times Square, where we stopped by at Borders. It was also the first time I actually stepped into the building. What I find interesting about Borders is that they have a section dedicated to Judaism and Jewish books which I thought could never be found in Malaysia. The JPS Hebrew-English Tanakh is one such example. These are all essential tools that I require for extensive research.
* * *
I was supposed to bring Shin along, but he couldn’t make it. I asked Kevin to come but he is busy with his remote sensing research/project in Kuala Selangor. So I came alone, without a clue on how to recognise the bloggers. I’d just assumed that Peter Tan will be there.
When I first walked into Oasis Food Court at around 3.05pm, the initial plan was just to stop by, say hi to Peter, and go back by 4pm. But I ended up doing that at 5.35pm. Heh, some “planner” I am. That’s how addictive a blogger’s meet could be.
But I did meet and was formally introduced to (not in any particular order) Danny Foo, Yvonne, Sashi, Nilesh Babu (who had to leave early), Dustyhawk, Silencer, Cybersonique, Dzof, SK, Andreas, eyeris and of course, the host Peter Tan. I was informed that Norzu was there and I did saw Chanlilian, but I never got the opportunity to be formally introduced. Bugger.
Blogs that I’ve never known before but met their respective owners there was Syiok and Mistress Naoko.
There were more people, but I do not know who the others were. Couldn’t identify the faces with the URLs.
Sorry if I miss out any names, but frankly, the majority of you are lifestyle bloggers and with the exception of Danny, Yvonne and Peter Tan (whose blogs I frequent quite often), I visit blogs mostly of this nature.
I wish I could have met Shaolin Tiger, Jordan, LcF and maybe even Aisehman, in person. Aizuddin will be an added bonus.
I never thought about it but I don’t think I will be greeting the Semitic way of cheek-to-cheek kissing with the Malaysian Zionist. Ugh. Even the idea of doing that is disgusting, and I just had breakfast. And like I remarked to Nilesh, I’ll be a mile away from whereever he is. Nothing personal, but I don’t think I can summon the willpower to control myself when present in the same room with someone who espouse racist, contra-Islam ideals at the expense of Palestinians, as Zionism obviously does. Bleh.
One thing I’ve understood from this meeting is that there are those who recognise me on sight (I’m not sure if that’s a good thing in the long run). I post back-dated photos and people still recognise me on sight. Hmm….but at least I was podcasted. In the future, I will try my best to attend such meets but it will be sporadic for privacy reasons. I rather be unknown and obscure but have high quality posts on a subject matter catering to a core, niche readership, rather than being well-known in the media and surrounded by fans at every blogger meet, but write crap/nonsense/BS like what some “famous” ones are doing. And as I told Dzof, I will make no apologies for what I blog about. If you don’t like it, FARK OFF byotch. End of story.
This will be one of those rare, lifestyle posts I occasionally write before moving on to more, serious matters and resume the tempo of this blog.
Hey Menj, it was great meeting you. Maybe I could drag rajan out sometime, and you guys can have a tete-a-tete session. What do you say? LOL!

Yvonne, it was a pleasure meeting you too. I doubt it would be a “tete-a-tete session” if Rajan and I were in the same room. Bleh :p

No, I gather it’d be more… hard core than that. You know what I’m sayin’.
It amuses me that you’re so snobbish about lifestyle blogs. Whatever are you talking about, darling?
